Im here in my last few hours in HK... enjoying the cold weather and the free internet at the airport. i'm totally broke and totally unsatisfied with regards to places I've been but I'm pretty
alright with it...since i wasn't the one who paid for my plane ticket anyway....
Ja, in a few hours I'll be back in ugly, smoggy, hot Philippines...

SWQC and the Bohol trip cut short
Presenting Team Manila for SWQC minus SallyBeing in cebu again was fun. Staying in hotels, eating out, I was looking forward especially for my Bohol trip, but it was cancelled. So Marc, Ben and I just went to some new places like Tops, had dinner at D' Creamery along Escario and a dessert at Milk Cebu at OsmeƱa.
Last day was spent buying souveneirs at Ayala, had a 2 pizza lunch at Da Vinci and a 7:30 flight back home.
Of course, a major highlight in this trip was the lovely Boneless Crispy Pata at Dessert Factory....NYARM!

I can't wait to go back...hopefully for a longer period... :)
Oh, the presentation went fine....I guess.... :|

more than i could ever juggle and i can't even juggle to begin with
for once, i had more than my share of my work. not only i was juggling my module, where coding should start tomorrow and from the 280 lines, i've finished a whopping 18...whoopeee, i was also handling something pretty big (for me), IT procedures.
i wasn't doing them. i was "supervising" the new members (who are from cebu, smart, and have worked on IT procedures before thank God) over the procedures. they seemed to be doing fine from the last time i checked. and i made sure i wasn't all hitler, slave driver shit.
these are the times i feel really old, too old, growing up too fast.
plus, being an ... "extrovert" (hyper-happy-on-crack) person, i was picked to present one of our projects in the annual SWQC contest.
which means i'll be flying to Cebu thursday night next week with the little boy, toffer and jogu plus people from FOMA
i'm scared shitless...but it's okay...i'll be practicing my presentation to my groupmates friday. and to our manager sometime soon...too bad our japanese manager won't be there to see how i present it, might give me a few pointers...

Your programmer personality type is:
DHSC
DHSC
You're a Doer.
You are very quick at getting tasks done. You believe the outcome is the most important part of a task and the faster you can reach that outcome the better. After all, time is money.
You like coding at a High level.
The world is made up of objects and components, you should create your programs in the same way.
You work best in a Solo situation.
The best way to program is by yourself. There's no communication problems, you know every part of the code allowing you to write the best programs possible.
You are a Conservative programmer.
The less code you write, the less chance there is of it containing a bug. You write short and to the point code that gets the job done efficiently.

Miss, pakitabi po yung kotse niyo
and here is my first violation ticket after driving for four years without it....
//insert picture here later
i totally missed a red stoplight. the yellow guys pulled me over and gave me their usual lecture plus the whole "akin na lisensya mo" (give me your license).
i do not have backup that time. nor am i friends with the mmda head. so, i reluctantly gave him my license. which he issued me a ticket to get it for 5 working days.
oh well. it was a great day. *sarcasm*
i went home, got to play ro the whole night, ate yummy grilled food from manang at the sidewalk. and started to feel a bit more cheered up.

my first straight cut jeans since high school....
i remember buying my first elephant pants 2000, after that my taste matured and i switched to bellbottoms. I have a lot of bellbottoms, light jeans, dark jeans, slacks, i still have a few elephant pants (now called square), and i vowed never to wear straight cut/bootleg/all those other variations again.
and hell get me away from skinny jeans. >_<. i wouldn't touch those unless you paid me.
so, on a usual sunday, i was looking around at powerplant, came across a jeans sale, 50% slashed down from it's original price.
i saw a pair of nice looking jeans. bootleg methinks. it has creases and fade outs on the inner thigh area. it looks nice and it's 50% cheaper than your usual pair.
i tried it on...it looks okay...so i bought it... nuff said.
that's what i get for assuming too much, i'm not eating my own words :))

greenhills, tiendesitas
saturday, the little boy and i decided to go to greenhills to get the R4 card for amida. we met at v.mapa. hitched on a bus, and got down near tempura/razons of guagua to virramall.
my things have changed. i always remembered virramall is this old, dready, and in-shambles mall, now it can rival greenbelt. the crowd is still pretty much the same, i can't really play at ease while my bag is just in between me and the machine while the crowd watched. and i feel wary. but nevertheless it has a lot of things that i want.... like the r4 for example at the cheap price :)
First stop, the infamous celtex for my ds lite needs, damn being there was like a kid in a candy store. it was nice to drool at technology. even if they're too expensive to buy. you just keep wanting them
here's me asking what other accessories to they have... i look pretty thin here. which is a downright lie since i'm been getting fatter...
i got the r4 for 2k, and that left us the rest of the morning for lunch and the rest of the afternoon to do whatever we want...
Lunch was at a new restaurant...Tender Bob's which was great, I was craving for steak...
first off, mushroom soup. this soup rival's kulinarya's exotic mushroom, a rich hearty soup of blended mushrooms, tasty.
next was chicken fingers, we both commented on american food being a bit bland and everything was on the dipping sauce...

this is the little boy's lunch. i have sampled it, the presentation is good, but the burger was kind of bland for my taste. so far, nobody tops burgoo's burger steak :D their serving of rice is a lot. which can get you really full afterwards.

this is my lunch, rib eye steak with mashed potato on the side :)
after that we went to the new virramall for a while, looked at the gadgets fawned over the ragnarok model set, looked at laptops, went to the bookstore... wanted to hitch the 2pm shuttle to tiendesitas but wasn't lucky enough to catch the trip, so we walked around some more before catching the 3pm shuttle. :)
me looking at books...
when we got to tiendesitas we headed straight for the animal section...i wanted to look at the pets, and to my delight, they have cats
i love dogs, don't get me wrong, but there is something about cats that tug me :P it could be their sleek, powerful, and almost bitchy nature, but their ability to be so sweet, alluring and gentle won me.
remember this picture...i couldn't get over it...
this was a cross breed of a champion ragdoll/ragmuffin. It's called a ragdoll because they tend to go limp when you hold it like this little feller. this guy has blue eyes and markings on its feet, ears and the nose. 3 months old and is probably the most adorable and sweetest cat ive known, when i walked in the store and raised its paws high up from inside the cage and in my leg as if saying hey, come play with me.
i was looking at him and he glanced back in those adorable eyes. and i couldn't say no, i wanted to rob a bank right then and there just to take it home, cuddle it and just take care of it...but i was the only cat lover in the family, and i don't like it getting harrassed the same way as i am currently in this house. it was 10k, cage and everything. a purebred too....
but when i go back to the thought of it being unloved here...i think i made the right decision...don't want him going through the same shitholes as i am right now...
it was just 5 minutes, but i love him all the same...
after that we had a water break and went back to greenhills to have a snack (tacoes for me, siomai for him) and headed home...
